Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director General of SDforB and Representative of GCNV

Human resource is the key factor for business development. Enterprises, therefore, put loads of efforts on recruitment and training. Nevertheless, their efforts sometimes do not bring in what they want. Many of them still get lost in the matrix of finding suitable candidates, simultaneously managers suffer from headache questions on: Why are there not many significant impacts even trainings were organized? Why competitors do better when my employees have higher degree than theirs?

Those issues have discussed during the CSR Calendar Forum on Labour Practices “HOW INTERNAL TRAINING CAN BE SET UP TO IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY” on 07th April 2015 in Ha Noi and 08th April 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director General of SDforB and Representative of GCNV shared figures from a recent survey of Asian Productivity Organization which shows Viet Nam labour productivity is among the lowest in Asia Pacific region. Precisely, it is 15 times lower than Singapore, 5 times lower than Malaysia and 2.5 times lower than Thailand. Viet Nam, generally, ranks 65th in 144 economies in terms of labour productivity, according to Report on Global Competitiveness 2014 – 2015 by World Economic Forum. Thus improving labour productivity should be seen in strategic way, to which CSR could make a great contribution. Becoming members of GCNV – a part of the world largest network on CSR, enterprises will receive guidance of its 10 principles in 4 subjects on Environment, Labour, Anti Corruption and Human Rights, enhancing labour quality and attracting high skilled labour, accordingly promoting their images and competitiveness in national and international markets, added Mr. Vinh.

Mr. Florian Beranek – UNIDO Lead Expert Social Responsibility highlighted, to operate well, an organization needs not only technology, machines or workshops but also human. If individual skill development is supported, an employee will have motivation in working, like his job more and be loyal to the organization”. Following his words, internal training could help organization to enhance its productivity, build trust to employees and credibility to customers”.

Ms. Dao Thuy Van – Deputy Director of Human Resources Department, National Citizen Bank, with 17 years of HR experience in Vietnamese and international enterprises denoted that many enterprises have training strategy for all positions and departments, and measure after-training results by actual revenue, profit and development. The right strategy will bring in profit and benefits in regards of images and credibility.

Ms. Dao Thuy Van is keynote speaker for CSR Calendar Forum on Labour Practices in Ha Noi (7/4/2015) and Ho Chi Minh City (8/4/2015)

CSR Calendar Forum serves as a platform for enterprises to join multi-stakeholder dialogues to raise awareness of 6 core subjects of CSR based on ISO26000 and 10 principles of UNGC. The project, besides series of Calendar Fora, also welcomes enterprises to in-class and in-house CSR training courses in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. Vietnamese SMEs GCNV members located in greater Ho Chi Minh and greater Ha Noi will be provided with 1-day CSR consultancy and information on related topic in long term./.
