What is the United Nations Global Compact?
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. As a leadership initiative endorsed by Chief Executives, it seeks to align business operations and strategies everywhere with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

It was launched on 2000 by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to engage the private sector in addressing development challenges. Now it counts more than 7000 participants, including over 5200 businesses in 130 countries around the world
